Burlesque Xtina

Can the Genie in a Bottle pop star perform as well on the silver screen as she can on her music videos?

Aguilera's first step towards the big screen was starting as singing a part of the new remake of 1975's  "Lady Marmalade" from the 2001 movie Moulin Rouge, grouping with Mya, Pink, Lil' Kim and Missy Elliott. Her second debut was less visual as she was a member of the soundtrack for Shark Tale and played the voice of a character with minimal speaking roles. Now she's stepping up and ready for musicals, combing her love with a new opportunity.
Christina Aguilera's making her silver-screen debut in a musical called Burlesque, about a small-town girl who makes good, somehow, by working at a Cabaret-like L.A. performance venue. It was written with her in mind, for Christina's big voice and retro-sexy vibe.
Well, as Aguilera says in her 2008 hit song, Keeps Gettin Better, X-Tina fans should "Hold on! It keeps gettin' better!"
Aguilera will play an ambitious small-town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club that appears to be right out of Bob Fosse's Cabaret.
Christina Aguilera is the ideal pop star as she covered musical styles from pop to soul to jazz to R&B and is a married mother. Finally a celebrity that doesn't give up after starting a family of her own! But how long until the press takes Aguilera's step forward to the big screen (as an actress, not just a voice) and makes it into a step towards yet another competition with ex fellow Mickey Mouse Club member Britney Spears.

Christina is taking the big screen to the next level! Combining the sexy acts of movies such as Coyote Ugly and the sensual dances and songs of Moulin Rouge, Aguilera is turning this bar into a musical!
